Local by design

Privacy notice.

Hushload separates the public website from the desktop application. Video URLs, titles, filenames, folders, thumbnails, and downloads are never sent to a Hushload backend because no such backend exists.

Desktop application

Analysis and downloads occur between your computer and the public source you choose. Active queue state and preferences are stored locally. Completed history is disabled by default. The application contains no telemetry or advertising SDK.

What leaves your computer

Exactly two kinds of outbound connection exist. First, requests to the source page you submitted, sent directly by the bundled media engine — that source sees them as it would see your browser. Second, the signed update check described below. There is no third destination, because Hushload has no backend to send anything to.

Preview images

When a source provides a preview image, the application loads it from that source to display it, blurred by default. This is a normal request to the same source you already chose to analyze; no preview is copied to the operator.

Update checks

The application requests the signed release manifest from the public Hushload release repository. This check is always active and cannot be switched off: it is the mechanism that delivers security and compatibility fixes to every installation. The request carries no media URL, title, path, filename, identifier, or usage data. The code-hosting provider serving that manifest may observe ordinary network data such as your IP address and user agent under its own privacy terms, exactly as it would for any file download.

Website analytics

The static site may use Cloudflare Web Analytics for aggregate traffic measurement. It must never receive application events or media details. Cloudflare and the hosting infrastructure may process ordinary request metadata under their own terms.

Local deletion

Uninstalling removes the application. The uninstaller and release QA verify installed files; files you intentionally downloaded remain yours and are not deleted automatically. Local preferences and queue state can be removed from the Hushload application-data folder.
