Answers without fine print

Frequently asked questions.

Hushload has a narrow purpose: save public media you own or are authorized to copy, directly on your Windows PC.

Does Hushload upload my links or files?

No. The desktop application has no Hushload API or analytics endpoint. It connects directly to the public media source and, when enabled, to the public GitHub release endpoint for updates.

Which sites are supported?

Pornhub is the release-tested target. RedTube, YouPorn, XVideos, and xHamster are beta integrations and may break when those sites change. See the compatibility page.

Can it access Premium, private, or account-only media?

No. Hushload does not import cookies or browser sessions and does not bypass DRM, subscriptions, private pages, regional access controls, or other technical restrictions.

Why does Windows show SmartScreen?

The initial releases are not signed with a paid Windows publisher certificate. That warning does not verify safety. Download only from the official release link and compare the SHA-256 before continuing. Never disable Defender. Follow the SmartScreen guide.

Is it free?

Yes. Every download feature shipped in version 1 remains free. A future paid service, if any, would add new services rather than remove these functions.

Where is my history?

Completed history is off by default. The active queue is stored locally so interrupted work can resume. You can opt into local completed history in Settings.

Does it work on macOS or Linux?

The architecture is portable, but the first release supports Windows 10 and 11 on x64 only. No macOS or Linux release is promised yet.
